FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance do I need to book my shoot?
I recommend that you book your shoot 2-4 weeks before you need your pictures. Fall is a busy time!
What if I am older and not my ideal weight?
I have photographed women from their early twenties to their late seventies. I have photographed women of all sizes and shapes. When I look at you through my lens I believe I can capture your inner and outer beauty no matter what your stage in life. My goal is that when you are in front of my camera you will experience how beautiful you really are.
What Do I Wear?
We go over clothing options in our consultations. I recommend bringing at least 4-6 different outfits. The more you bring, the better I will be able to help you decide what to wear.
How long does the shoot take?
It depends on what kind of session you are looking for. I offer commercial photography sessions, transformational portrait sessions, as well as, senior portraits. Contact me to discuss your photography needs.
What is the cost and what does it include?
Sessions are all customizable and different. You can expect to pay a minimum of $690 for your portrait session experience.
I have cellulite, stretch marks or bad skin. Can you fix that?
Yes. Removal of cellulite, acne and stretch marks are part of the retouching process and included in your purchase. We don’t reshape or make people’s body parts any other shape than normal.
Where does the photography session take place?
In my studio in North Freedom, Wisconsin that I have set up for headshots, branding, and contemporary portraiture, I am also available for outdoor sessions and location destinations.
Do I get all the Digitals?
You are welcome to purchase and share the digital files to your heart’s content! We provide high-resolution digital files for each portrait purchased. The good news is that the more portraits you buy, the less you pay per image.
Will you post my pictures online?
I would only use your pictures online or for marketing and advertising with your signed consent.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can call or e-mail me directly at (608) 697-1419, e-mail: stephanie@stephshanks.com
What is your cancellation policy?
In case of emergency, a photo session canceled 7 days prior to your scheduled session date will be eligible for the session fee refund. If a photo session is canceled less than 7 days before the scheduled date a refund is not applicable.
The session appointment fee will be retained to recoup the loss of the appointment session and the cost of the makeup/hairstylist.
Can I reschedule my photo shoot?
7 days notice is required prior to your scheduled session to change the date, since a hair & makeup professional has been scheduled for your session. Rescheduling less than 7 days from the session date will require the re-booking fee ($150) for the hair & makeup professional.
What is Your COVID 19 Policy?
At our studio, we want to assure you that it has been our standard of care since day one, to sterilize after each client with spraying down furniture and wiping off surfaces with antibacterial wipes and sprays after each client, to eliminate the spread of germs from one client to another.
Due to the current spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have implemented new sanitation protocols. We have increased our measures and frequency in which ‘high touch’ areas throughout our studio are cleaned and sterilized to mitigate the potential virus spread and personal touches such as handshakes or hugs have been eliminated until further notice to protect everyone’s health.
We respectfully ask if you or a family member are ill (feverish, coughing, and/or sneezing) and scheduled for a session, that you please reschedule to a later date when you are well. While in our studio, we are asking clients to use our hand sanitizer stations prior to touching anything in the studio. Furthermore, we also want to offer an online zoom viewing session of your images instead of coming back to the studio for your convenience.
We are actively monitoring both local and national information about COVID-19 and we will follow the guidelines provided by the CDC and our city’s recommendations. We will continue to do everything we can to keep the studio a clean and safe environment and continue uninterrupted photo sessions with love, care, and your health in mind.
